GoGlobers

GoGlobers is a newly released mobile app for Android and iOS. It helps travellers to know where their international friends are so they can meet again. The project had a strong focus on privacy (ex.: location is only displayed where a friend request was established within the app, users can customize their location visibility).

I was responsible for designing and developing the frontend and backend. The used stack: Flutter, SQLite, Node.js, TypeScript, Google Cloud, Firebase, NoSql, and several third party APIs.

A logged in user lands on the Friends screen. It was designed to display the near friends at the top, along with the new messages, and the location of each friend. A custom user to user data delivery and chat system was developed (both frontend and backend).

Users can post Trips which are also used for calculating distance between users. Third party APIs were implemented for trip photos and for autocompleting the input field when the user is searching for a city.

Photo albums (aka. Memories) with date and location were crucial so users can remember each other better even years after.
